Egypt and Tunisia have taken a significant step to strengthen their economic and trade relations by signing eight cooperation agreements. The accords cover a wide range of sectors, including health, services, exports, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), youth, sports, social affairs, consumer protection, and market surveillance.
Through these agreements, both nations are targeting a substantial increase in bilateral trade, with the goal of doubling current levels from around $500 million to $1 billion within two years.
The deals also introduce measures to simplify trade and investment, such as customs duty exemptions, prevention of double taxation, and support for joint investments. In addition, the agreements encourage partnerships in science and technology and create more opportunities for entrepreneurs in both countries to collaborate.
Officials emphasized that the initiatives are designed not only to boost trade flows but also to foster job creation, enhance competitiveness, and deepen cooperation across economic and social sectors.
